Spray on the affected stain area and blot with a clean cloth. Repeat the process as many times as necessary.-    Dish detergent: 1 teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent mixed with two cups of warm water is a simple yet effective stain management technique. Apply the solution using the same method as the ammonia and vinegar process.For general household cleaning where the carpet is concerned, prevention is often the best method. Vacuuming regularly is the best starting point in carpet maintenance. Frequent vacuuming prevents a build-up of dust and grit particles that can destroy the fibres in carpet over time.
